2002 marks the first year of the demise of the Christmas Number 1 forever where the latest TV manufactured band will take the Christmas crown.
Girls Aloud are a British girl group created by ITV1 talent show Popstars: The Rivals and they took the Christmas Number 1 in 2002 with Sound of the Underground.
The band formed on TV just weeks before the songs release hit Number 1 in the UK charts and Cheryl Cole (nee Tweedy) of the band became a judge in an equivilent X-Factor program in 2008.
